As we drove another trip to Switzerland to pick up and drop off beds to grateful missionaries we saw the beginnings of Fall. Cooler nights, warm days, 99% humidity really is a nice mix. We got home to 13 boxes of copies of the Book of Mormon to be distributed to missionaries and waiting investigators. Another gorgeous day on the Bodensee with lots of bikers, boaters and walkers. And another delicious German dinner with sweet people. We have fallen in love again with this beautiful part of the world.

We had a very diverse week of discoveries. We took a wrong turn and found this little palace turned museum and discovered that one of us is afraid of life sized mannequins dressed up in scary costumes! Mr. Fix-It got to replace some plumbing for young missionaries. We found a new favorite little fast food place close to shopping. We discovered a fabulous crepe place in the neighboring town of Uberlingen that has a fantastic view. We went to our own little Friedingen's Dunnelefest with a fun band, friendly people and great food. And we were able to watch this wonderful man discover the Gospel and be baptized. It was a filling week, full of surprises and discoveries!

So much for plans. We planned and prepared this birthday party for one of our sweet sister missionaries. Minutes before it was supposed to start we got an emergency call from a missionary in a neighboring town needing a ride to the doctor. As we were leaving people came to the party. We got our patient to the doctor and back home. We arrived home two hours later just as everyone was leaving. We left the camera at the party and it looks like they had a great time. (Our patient is healing.)

Two posts this week!

I guess this was a week of walks. All of these are things we saw on our walks. Our favorite walk through the forest. For those that love Ritter Sports 59 cents is a great find as we walked through our grocery store. We pass cows and cornfields and beautiful views when we try out different directions from our apartment. On a walk to deposit glass for recycle we found this beautiful bowl. We started this week driving to IKEA to pick up beds and supplies for some missionaries in Switzerland. These mountains looked like they would topple over on us, another fantastic view!

This past week was more apartment checks. We've checked 6 altogether and met with 16 young missionaries. They got a Ritter Sport candy bar for their hard work of cleaning their apartments before we got there. We saw 4 cities that we haven't seen before. Besides the traffic and new to us roads the other obstacle was learning how to pronounce some of those cities - Schwenningen and Schwammendingen - and keeping them straight. Every six weeks is called "Transfer Week." This was our last District Meeting before one of these great men is transferred to another District. We were happy only one was transferred, we're getting quite attached to these fantastic kids. To end the week we had a wonderful dinner with this fun family. The mom introduced me to her hat collection - I think I might have a new hobby!

What a great week. We've been busy! Saturday was an Open House at the church. "Our" band played, people danced and sang, we had great food and wonderful people to talk to and laugh with! Another day was beautiful to go explore - we found this wonderful place at the Bodensee and I thought these garbage cans showed Germany's efficiency with recycling (it takes time every day to sort our garbage). We went to Zurich to check 3 apartments of young missionaries, we saw fantastic countryside to enjoy along the way. Thanks to all of my sisters we were able to Skype together! They are so adorable and fun to visit with. It was great to catch up!
We had some great meetings with people investigating our church, meetings with members and meetings with missionaries. It is such a great experience to be part of this work.
